In case you didn’t know, I’m a very proud Londoner! 🙂
I often get asked if I have always lived in London. And I’m proud to say I’m a born and bred Londoner, from the Eastend to be precise! You can understand my excitement when I saw Nike’s latest offering in terms of marketing campaigns, ‘Nothing Beats A Londoner’. It celebrates the London I know in all its glory, a London that many don’t often see. A London that is not only bright city lights and tourist attractions. A London that is full of grit and unwavering strength and commitment to being better. It is full of the diversity that makes London exactly what it is!
Watch the advert below if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet (even if you have seen it go ahead and press play – you know you want to):
The campaign brings together key sports and music figures is from London in cameo roles throughout the 3 minute advert. We are taken on a journey showcasing the struggles young Londoners face in order to take part in the sports that they clearly love. These hurdle do not stop them though. The instead seem to act as motivation to keep going and doing better. In addition to the the famous Londoners such as Skepta, Dina Asher-Smith, J-Hus, Mo Farah, Harry Kane and Michael Dapaah the campaign features young people from all parts of London. It was also nice to see a range of sports represented from rowing to football to skateboarding.
With over 75 Nike sponsored athletes going into 250 venues to inspire over young people in London over this half term, the timing of the advert couldn’t have been better.
What adverts or marketing campaigns have recently spoken to your soul in the same way Nike has spoken to mine? And if your a small business ask yourself the following question. When was the last time you were this intentional when sharing your story with your current and potential customer?
